hi
i bought turkish sim card in oct 09 put in one of my old mobiles worked ok in turkey my turkish friend said after 6 months it gets cancelled so make a quick callwhen back in uk or text to get further time ,just turned on tried call but getting limited services any one got any idea about it

i think you have to activate the roaming on the sim card before you leave Turkey for it to work in the UK.

If it's a uk handset you will also have to have the imei number (serial number) of the device registered to your service provider, otherwise the phone will eventualy get locked out.

If you're with Turkcell go on their website. It's in English and there's plenty of useful information on there. You can also contact their Customer Service Dept and speak to an English speaking advisor.

We generally leave sim card with friends and this has worked over the last six years, however because we were due out over xmas/new year, we brought sims back with us thinking we would be in time to do our own top up (and just register a phone call etc).Urr.. did not happen(Mrs taken ill hol/flights lost)So looks like will be replacing sim/phones with new numbers etc when we do get back in May.:(

hi would any one know by the markings on sim card what network it would be in turkey,it says SIMPLus  and also on it HAZIR KART,the first 5 numbers are 53169 any help appreciated

mines says hazir kart and is with turkcell dont know if that helps you as other networks sim cards might say the same?
