It is almost impossible to get a permit to work unless you have something very specialist to offer. If you fancy working in a bar you might well find yourself deported and banned from returning.

Katy have you tried the British holiday companies for tour rep vacancies? Long hours and poor pay.
There is a member of this forum who does this work each season, If they don't reply or read then I will try to remember who it is.

To get a work permit, you first must have a Residency permit (Not a 90 day visa) And this is where you have a 'Catch 22' position, for to get a Residency Permit, you must show you have means of supporting yourself in Turkey without working. As they said, if you work without a work permit and get caught you could face a heavy fine and deportation

You need more than residency you need citizenship which you can apply for after five years as a resident

No, you only need Residency. My daughter works at Hillside and she has a Work permit and she only has a Residency permit.

If you only require residency why would you need to prove you have enough funds to support you're self [?] I think you will find you need citizenship. There are a lot of Brits in turkey with residency that cannot work.

Why should people already in Turkey be any different from people who obtain a job and come to work in Turkey from UK, who in addition to a work permit only need residency

Sure you need residency to be able to get a work permit. If you have citizenship then you dont need a work permit.
