Well I believe it might well. If it was factory sealed (as the Dutch bacon always was) you will have a good idea of it's age from the use by date on the original packaging. My experience is that the length of time pork has been frozen affects the taste and quality. Because you are buying in undated packaging, it could have been frozen for many months or even years, and it will not taste as it once would have.

Just had a delicious bacon sandwich made with bacon bought from Bulents pork shop opposite Tansas. I know a lot of people who have had his produce and are very happy with it. He was at the cheese and wine party last year and he was at the Christmas fayre. He does really well. Expensive yes but very good. Beans are 1TL so not all expensive lol. He donated quite a bit of stuff for oue English hamper. He is a really good guy.

7.5 TL doesn't sound too bad if you say it quickly, but that equates to three quid a tin!

With the price of meat soaring its no more expensive buying meat in the Pork Shop than the butchers or supermarkets!!!!!!

Bought a lovely large pack of best back bacon (no small packs) from Calis pork shop last week. It was very good quality and I eat the lot. About just over twice the price you would pay in UK but worth it if you like bacon.
