Residency Permits to be issued in Fethiye
« on: March 23, 2010, 18:40:18 PM »
Had to go to Security Police today to get signature from senior officer for my residency renewal. He told my wife that it was a pity that I was in a hurry as they would soon - he said maybe 6 weeks - be doing all documentation and issuing permits in Fethiye.

We were doing a run around to get signatures normally got by gumruk but they did not have the staff so it was either that or wait. I was getting my file completed so I could then get an appointment at Mugla which I have got for Friday so I will be able to get my residency permit the same day. I did not want to leave documents including my passport and wait 6 weeks or so.

Thats very good news Paul.
I  cannot comprehend how the UK government allows British passports to be held as long as they seem to be if one doesnt go to Mugla.
It has to be a huge hole in "homeland" security.
Similarly if one has the same passport why does the original which has already been seen have to be sent off again for renewal, surely the local police could just verify it is you and sign off a copy.
Still at least Fethiye know what they are doing - they went ape when Ortaca sat on my passport for weeks when I moved.

Of course you still have to do the same running around but each time there is often a small change in documents required. I always go to Gumruk and get list from them but also ask if any of the required photocopies need to be in colour. When you go back with all your documents you will then be given the application form which has to be typed and their is a shipping office opposite on the main road that can do this for you.
I am fortunate that my wife is Turkish and so she knew exactly where to go and who to see so minimised the time required. If you need any help let us know.
