Perhaps it is something to do with shipping out household goods. I have read that you needed a residence visa to ship in your household goods, but cannot find anything on shipping them back out. Anyone any ideas ?

I would have thought most people sell fully furnished anyway.

I have talked to my friend again and it is for shipping out her furniture that she needs the residence visa. My apologies to anyone whom I might have caused undue stress.

Yes and if they let it lapse they will be liable for the tax
