Reactions to loud music elsewhere ?
« on: August 22, 2011, 07:53:38 AM »
Here in Ovacik , it seems that the officials don't care about loud music from the hotels. The sound levels as well as making noise during banned times ( midnight to 7 am. ) seem to be out of interest for the Oludeniz Belediye.Calling 179 or e-mailing alo.179@hotmail.com did not help much.

I would like to know how the situation elsewhere in Fethiye is.

Certain hotels/restaurants along the prom at Calis seem to be continally harassed about the loud music even before midnight but there is no consistancy from the Belediyere. One hotel had 3 phone calls before 10pm one evening yet on the following evening when there were Turkish dancers and the music was just as loud there were no complaints. On the road leading to the prom there are numerous establishments pumping out loud disco music to the wee small hours but dont know of any complaints down there.

As standard, bars and restaurants have to lower the music at midnight. They can install glazing to prevent the noise, and these doors have to be closed at midnight. If there is noise disturbance, then they face a fine, and the threat of the establishment being closed for a number of days. This has been the case for over 10 years.
