Just a warning of a similar scam . I recently thought I had clicked on
the official Land Registry website and paid for a search and report
of a property and the site listed the items covered for the fee paid.
They didn't live up to their promise and their Email address for complaints
doesn't respond. The Land Registry said they are aware of these websites
but it's nothing to do with them.   Very underhanded scam.

Double check what you are clicking on.

If they did not deliver what they promised, then contact your credit card company as they are jointly liable.  You should be able to get a refund.

This only works when as a scam site, they do not deliver the goods/services, not when they add charges like the visa sites.

Yeah, only £17 but if everyone just writes it off then that's a lot of £17's.

If you've filled in all your CC info, including CVS number from back of card then maybe you should be contacting the card issuer if you think its definitely a scam site!  I know I would.

I am grateful this has been flagged up - it's the kind of mistake I would make.  Thanks

There are quite a few about. USA is a popular one.
It seems that anyone can do this, I suppose it's like a mortgage broker service that only uses one bank.
I counteracted something similar a while back by paying google ads to display a "don't use xxxx" message every time someone searched for xxxx. Cost me a penny a click.

I nearly got caught out getting an EHIC. The first site I went on looked really official and wanted £12.50 each for them. Before I bought I asked the question on here and was directed to the correct site. These sites should be stopped.
