In the UK the complete eclipse {"Blood Moon"} will be from 03:11 to 04:24 with partial eclipse before and after starting at 01.10. If you miss it you can next catch it in 2033. In Istanbul the maximum effect will be at 05.47.

I got up in the middle of the night to see this. Anyone else? Defeated my camera but there are some great photos posted this morning. Here is one which is how I saw it, through binoculars, last might.

Last night I went to bed leaving a beautiful huge bright moon in the sky. I set an alarm to get me up again at 3.30am and was so disappointed to see this wee hazy blob in the sky. I had visions of being truly overwhelmed with the blood moon after all the hype. Ah well, there's always 2033!!

We went out yesterday to a Turkish Friend's house in Fethiye for a meal.  Went at 2.pm met the most wonderful hospitallity, food drink, more home made food and drink, got home at 2.30am and were too knacked to put on the alarm on for 5.00am.  However, there was a lovely moon at 2.30pm, but it was not red.
So. hope we migth see it on Sunday.

By “spooky coincidence”, whilst you were having your confusion about weekly dates, Hilary was having the same. This morning she announced that she was going out this evening so I should cook my own dinner. [I decided to treat myself to a honey and mustard glazed roast joint of gammon with pommes lyonnaise, mange tout, and stuffed Portobello mushroom]. She was going to her first local Ward Labour Party meeting – she joined a few weeks ago so she could vote for Jeremy. I was getting the ingredients pre-prepared for the meal when it struck me that it was odd to hold a Labour Party meeting when the Annual Conference was in progress. So she rushed upstairs to find it is NEXT Monday. Fortunately there is enough food for both of us.
