if you buy a phone from the UK and bring it here, make sure you bring the original invoice in your name. Phones arent that expensive here and you can find them for less then a 100 lira.

We paid 180tl in July but then found out we could've got one cheaper so I guess it pays to shop around Rimms

Be careful when you buy a mobile here because it still could be locked.  Make sure the books have plastic on them and that the whole thing has not been tampered with.  Apparently I have learned that Izmir is where they send the phone to UNBLOCK them.

i've tried the website where you can check your IMEI number  www.imei.tk.gov.uk   to see if the mobile we use  with Telsim in Turkey is registered  and got this message


please could someone tell me what it means!

I'm learning Turkish, but haven't got to this bit yet ...

kayitdisi oldugu tespit edilen cihaz

don't get this message when I try it on a phone I've never used there, so maybe its good news ( although i doubt it)

any help gratefully received
