As suggested by ianK I have re-posted this under the new heading. The original post read as follows....

"It's that time of the year again folks   :))

We are now in our sixth year with this and it's always been a success so I'm hope it will be again in 2018.

For new members the way it works is that I will randomly allocate each of the 40 runners with a number.

Members who want to participate simply pick the number(s) between 1 and 40 they want. I then publish the list of the runners and the CBF member whose number corresponds to them just before the race which is on Saturday 14 April.

The price of a horse again this year is £ 7.00 (unless you want to make it something different     ;)) and the winner will receive a prize to the value of £ 20.00. Monies raised goes to the wonderful Calis Children's Charity. Ever the optimist, hopefully all the horses will be "sold" and if that's the case we can repeat the process with jockeys

It's not too early to pick your number - so book early to avoid disappointment.

Please help the children if you can.     :)"

There are now only 4 numbers left to chose from

16, 28, 29 and 31

incir - your generous contribution safely received. Many thanks for helping the kids.    :)

Also gives me the opportunity to "bump" this again in the hope that the 4 remaining numbers will be taken.

Well the big race day is fast approaching. The 40 runners will be named on Thursday and the big race is on Saturday.
 
Sadly, we still have 4 non runners.

So, is you enjoy reading and/or posting on the forum, have received invaluable free advice from members, love Calis and the local people and you haven't already chosen a number, please considering doing so. I believe it to be for a very worthy cause.

So - with two days to go we are down to he last two numbers 29 and 31.
