l also read report not very impressed thought Turkey was good but lately its getting very radical have also loved going to Turkey but am now having second thoughts :'(

not sure how to take your post Scunner. Since 1996 we have visited twice, sometimes thrice with our extended family. For a number of years I brought parties of Brits to Turkey. The quote reads "no European in any part of the world can walk safely on the streets". That doesn't even qualify as a thinly veiled threat and we have two hols booked in Turkey this year. If we are to be unsafe in any part of the world then Turkey would seem to be the LEAST SAFE.

The point is, the President of a country popular with British holidaymakers says Europeans will not be safe anywhere.

Can you imagine what Turkey hating papers like the Daily Mail could do with this?

I suppose the difference is our PM/Head of State isn't telling Asians they better change their attitude or their citizens willl be in danger.
