How about everyone brave enough to publish their passport photo?   It is true that most people do no look like themselves.  Phil took off his glasses and now if he goes through the automatic check, like the one in Manchester, it never accepts his picture.  He always has a few tries and then goes to the desk.

Maybe he should take his glasses off when being checked  ;)

He has tried that and for some reason it does not work.  The guys have told him to take them off and try again.
I always find I am waiting for him and am always told "No waiting here go outside".
I kept my glasses on for my passport photo and have no problems.  He was advised to take his off for the photo.

My husband got stopped by the police today whilst riding his bike. They asked him if he was Turkish when he said no English they just said walked away. Didn't ask for any id.

I came home from the Supermarket and still had a security tag on an item I had bought, the girl did not remove it at the counter and the alarm did not go off at the exit.   However, this is not to say this will happen all the time.
Just like getting stopped by the Police, you could be lucky and not be asked for your I.D. However, you may not be so lucky... Moral of the story, do not try to pinch alcohol from the supermarket and always carry your passport and visa in Turkey.   ;D   ;) :  :)

"No English" seems to work quite well in the UK now.
