I found that I much preferred the dishes of the Southern regions over the North.

Heard lots of good things about south Indian cuisine and when we go back, in the not too distant future I hope, we're looking to start out in Kerala.

That said we found a cracking Italian Restaurant in Goa!    ;)

Bet it wasn't as good as the fish and chip shop we found in Kolkata  ;)

We went to Goa some years back and thoroughly enjoyed the food there, we had curry every lunch time and they were all delicious, having said that the hotel also had a chinese restaurant and italian - both were also very good.   Does it really matter what you eat in what ever country you are in as long as you enjoy it.   We love the curries at CB Indian and the italian food at Bella Mama.  Looking forward to going to both of them very soon.

Of Topic slightly  :o  But I have a good friend who organises/escorts Holidays by Rail round India.  He's also a bit of a Foodie and knows every Food Stall worth visiting.   If anyone wants contact details am happy to pass them on.  Not sure if posting his web site would be allowed.

Can't beat Indian street food - there is a place near where I used to live in Willsden that served authentic vegetarian food just like what we got in India - delicious   :)
