New arrivals expect higher restaurant prices
« on: April 28, 2014, 09:59:47 AM »
Seen a marked difference since we have arrived. Comparing Jan/Feb our last visit to now, and its evident that the tourist season has arrived. Called into Mancereo (Shaka) Fri evening and charged 12tl for a glass of wine and 9tl for a Tuborg. Continued onto Denizati for a meal and wine at 10tl and beer also increased
Today our normal set meal at Alesta from 40tl to 50tl. Percentage wise these are high even taking into the inflation here.So be prepared!!

We noticed last year that prices in restaurants had risen, but, it's the same everywhere in the world that prices rise and I think even with price rises this year Turkey will still be good value.  £13.00 is not bad for a set meal.
We spoke to restaurant owner last year who told us about all the price rises his business is incurring and he said he hated to put up his prices, but had no choice.
However, I am really looking forward to getting out to our place but thanks for the information.
