Title: Turkey,a haven for investment
Post by: Daffodil on October 29, 2015, 00:43:37 AM
Apparently the the PM Davutoglu wants Turkey to be a haven for investment. Is it me or does this sound ridiculous?

No, it's not just you.  The man's a fool.

He can make these statements all he likes, but in reality no-one is going to touch Turkey with the proverbial bargepole when acts like the seizing of the Koza Ipek media group for money laundering because their accounts were "too good" can happen without challenge.

Its depressing to see how Erdogan and his cronies are behaving.  I really hope they get another spanking from the voters on Sunday.

I wouldn't be surprised if corruption wins here. There are supposedly many more voting forms than eligible voters!

Any investment is sure to include a cut for the Great One or his family, what's known as Reg's Share.  Shoeboxes anyone?

Yes, that'll be because they've managed to "lose" 600/700,000 voters from the electoral lists.  Mainly in the east of the country, what a surprise...

But surely you get a good interest rate if you put your money into a Turkish bank 30 day account? That's a good investment, isn't it?

Must be a degree of sophistication I have acquired due to spending time in Edinburgh.
