new boat yard
« on: February 15, 2012, 16:16:32 PM »
been to ciftlik planning office today, to submit some plans.
while i was there i enquired about the new boat yard that was in the news .
Many stages of planning/approvals to go ,but they think they will get the full approval in a year
For anyone that knows the area....they will make the canal that comes from carreta beach, much larger, for boat access
they are looking into either a lock system,or even a rail system,to get the boats in
the land that the boat yard will cover will be.....from the track road that runs towards tellessomos, behind the hill.extending to the rear of tellessomoss(there are three shalet bungalows there, which will be demolished)
round to the cicek bridge, across the canal to the pension, and across to the spanish looking villa on the other hill
a vast area
not sure wheather a good thing for the area or not?at least flooding will be a thing of the past
simon

I look forward to it being completed. Looks like it will take a few years though.

So much though then for the Caretta turtles breeding grounds. Typical Turkish attitude towards Nature VS development for monetary gain.

I think you may have the wrong idea c1, it will be a canal with lift in/out facilities, not a marina, more of a hard standing to build/repair boats on, if any thing like the present one, there will not even be a concrete surface to put the boats on.
