In reality prices will just go up to compensate I guess.

I remember T.Cook charging £16.00 to use a credit card.  At the time I had a credit card machine for my shop and I was charged about 50p for each transaction. Plus the hire of the machine.  Like other businesses I did not make a charge for my customers to use my machine.
