XL informed me last week that the flight myself and two friends were coming out on on 17 September had been cancelled due to "commercial decisions" and that they would give me a full refund as they had no other flight to offer. When I looked on their website they had one on 21st, but it was about £20 dearer so I rang them up and when they asked if I was going to cancel I said yes, but you have one on the Friday although it is dearer so could we have that one for the same price as the cancelled one and lo and behold they agreed, I assume that was because they didn't want to lose the business? So, I would say if it happens to you then do as you do in Calis - HAGGLE!
