Jet2 have almost doubled their capacity to Turkey in 2018 after a surge in ticket sales

That's good news, thanks Nichola! :)
-
Just to add for anyone in Birmingham area, some really good prices with Jet2, compared to others, for end of June - £388 for 2 (seats only)
-
Always found them very expensive. Have been looking for next May/June and they are coming in at over £700 return for two from the North.
-
You're welcome Bluwise :D
-
Dont worry Nichola, it doesn't matter how good a deal it is or how helpful it may to folks, when it comes to flights someone always has a moan.
:P

Indeed.

At over £700 for two I think people have a right to moan. Yes it's good they've increased capacity but it won't help Turkey much if people fly to Spain and Portugal for £300/£400 all in.
Jet2 used to be a cheap no frills airline but no longer and since Monarch have gone I can see prices going up rather more.
-
Whenever cheap flights are mentioned they are always for down south. No chance of such low prices from Edinburgh or Glasgow.
-
Perhaps I should send Jet2 a map with Bristol Airport marked on it as they seem unable to find us.
-
I thought Jet2 had flights primarily leaving from airports in the north. I've never used them myself but that's the impression I've got from people that have.
And the availability of cheap flights tends to vary depending on dates and demand so they'll be winners and indeed losers with any airline depending on how flexible people can be with their dates...
Looks like you're on the losing side this time Stoop ;)

Actually, that's not correct. Over the years I've posted several deals for flights to Turkey from Edinburgh - the problem is that folks want the £149rtn's in July and August of yesteryear, that simply doesn't happen any more during peak periods.

First flights of 2018 season from Edinburgh with bags, seat allocation and meals £ 765.80.
Last flights of 2018 season from Edinburgh with bags, seat allocation and meals £ 894.40

Not that it makes any difference to me personally but I felt compelled to have a look at their prices.
I chose Manchester Dalaman return and the flights look fairly reasonable to me. I didn't include August as the most expensive month whoever you book with but they were about £100 more on average

6th of June for a week with THY via Istanbul £207.54.
Includes 23kg, meals, seats etc.
That's a random week, there'll be cheaper, and probably more expensive.
No cheap deals from Edinburgh?

That is a good price if you are willing to accept the long travelling time.
PS My apologies - I should of course have made clear that the flight prices I quoted in a thread entitled Jet2 increase the number of seats available for the 2018 season" were Jet2 flights ;)

Add bags and seats and then tell me they are reasonable.
They aren’t the only ones though. £700+ seems about average next year if you want clothes and to sit together.

And have a bite to eat :)

I wonder what other periods of four hours there are where people feel they simply can't get through without the need to be fed. Or pay high prices for cat food style foil containers containing 5 tiny cubes of chicken in beige vomit with green beans and carrots, a 2" square dry dessert and a piece of cheese without sufficient elbow room to even open it without giving black eyes to those sitting next to you. And water served in a circular tray.
It truly amazes me. When it was free it was at it's market value.

I’ll let you know when I’ve had my James Martin meal in May on our FTC flight. ;)
-
Yes he'll be down the back cooking it Stoop
You wouldn't pay to eat in those conditions in a restaurant - someone within 2" of you either side, 10" in front before the next person's seat, plastic knife and fork...no matter who is supposed to have come up with the recipe.
It's a few hours, get a meal deal at Boots in the airport :D
-

No, it was still over priced.
Boots meal deals all the time for us flying from UK as well.
From Spain, breakfast/brunch/lunch in Torremolinos which is ten mins from Malaga airport.

I agree Keith however we wanted to try the economy plus package and it’s part of it.
The only way I would fly FTC would be this way and to be honest it seems a decent deal for the three of us. We have seats in row 1.Mr Matin’s Meals. Drinks. Fast track security. Priority check in and boarding. Priority bag return. 25kg baggage and 10k hand baggage.
I think it was £59 extra (and my son is paying that for all three of us) but rest assured there will be a review on it at £210 pp one way ;)
