The past week has bought to our attention from the Uzumlu muhtar how the local people are trying to stop a stone quarry in Uzumlu and has asked for our help!
After the muhtar contacted one of uzumlu's residents " Pinar ", a FB group page has been set up with 350 members already all with a common goal of trying to raise funds for the now impending court case to fight this.
We have until 17th May to lodge the legal objection and to raise 10,200tl
The total cost of the court case will be 20,000tl.
We would dearly like the residents of Fethiye and surrounding areas to support us with this. As you never know how and when other horrible things pop up that affect each and everyone one of us!
At present We are looking for support for the following:
Signatures on a legal petition
Donations that require direct payment to lawyer
Purchase of t-shirts
Anyone wishing to join the FB page The group is called "stop the stone mine Uzumlu"
Thank you
Denise

I'll get Mrs Tickets to sign me up on FB. Good luck with the campaign and legal appeal.

They are determined to ruin the village. First the cement works and now this.
Good luck with your efforts to stop it.

when are the t shirts ready? As I will buy

Any word on the t shirts for this protest as my partner and her mother is in Uzumlu now and I would get her to buy three one each. We are not on face book.

Hi
Please call into the pet shop which is on the left hand side of the dual carriage way as you exit the village.
It is called ITC . It is next door to the old Fesetta restaurant.

I have today looked on Right Move overseas and there seems to be a lot of property for sale in Uzumlu. Is this the reason why?

No :)
