Went out with my g/f, Lance & his wife today.
Started at Kargi where we had a fab breakfast then wandered down to Katranci beach. My 1st time here, lovely water but the land area was filthy dirty with rubbish, it needed a damn good clean up, sad to see.
On our way back towards Calis we stopped at Koca Calis to see some of the recent floods, must be soul destroying for the residents, gardens that wouldn't look out of place in a brochure for Venice :-\
After Lance got his car taxed (he thought it best after missing this last year :D) we drove round to Karagozler, as you can see from the pics the sunshine was superb but the temperature was chilly to say the least, ice cold fingers in a matter of minutes.
Enjoy the pics, as normal only low resolution ones on FB for speed of upload & the album is public so no need to be an FB user to view.

PS: Warning - contains pictures of Lance which bear no resemblance to his profile pic, I will not be held responsible for any discrepancies, as they say, the camera never lies :D

Lovely pics Mark, glad you enjoyed the full turkish breakfast 8)
We have been there twice and find it very interesting and the owner is really proud of his heritage.Did you meet him ?
studying the various pics of friends, family, council members etc he seems to be a bit of a celebrity.
Has Lance had a photo added to the hall of fame ? :)

Looks like you had a good trip.
Were the people still in those flooded places or was it just the gardens that were under water still?
you have got to feel for them.
We know how they feel we were flooded back in 2007 at this place in uk and its not good, we were lucky really we only lost all the downstairs carpets.

Last pic is the back of our house. We have flood barriers on the doors this winter so it would have to be about 2-3ft higher than the veranda to breech them. Hopefully it didn't get that high.
