British clocks go back while Turkish clocks remain unchanged.

Colwyn is of course correct, but to clarify, that means they go back on Saturday night - actually 2am Sunday morning.

So is that 3 hours in front? As of 30th.
-
Yes

You got it, Bernie. lol

How thick am I.. ;D I, m just worried if this will affect flight times. My time there is limited as it is :-\
-
How do you mean "affect flight times" ?

I,d like to think so kkob, but it's just old n grey.
On reflection,I don't know why I thought it would. Just that summat in the dark recesses of my daft mind, I recall summat about time changes impacting on previous Turkish flights, and there being a problem at airports...unless that scenario was a page out of my Bunty magazine.
Thanks Lotty.x

Will this affect transit times in any way. It is a little confusing for me.
Well the schedules will be maintained on UTC, which is basically GMT without the daylight saving nonsense. UTC is the world's reference time.
So whatever elapsed time was planned between connecting flights will not change in scheduling terms: what will change are the clock times in Turkey. So if you had a landing scheduled for 18:10 and the connecting flight was at 20:00, those will change to 19:10 and 21:00.
Or is it 17:10 and 19:00 ?

Not if they don't change them :)

Yep. If things don't change, they'll stay as they are.

I am exonerated..I thank you...I new I read summat

Would it be too simple a suggestion to manually change the clock. :)
I also confess to being mystified as to how your friend missed a plane given that the change (or non change) doesn't happen till the weekend here and on November 8 in Turkey. :-\

This was a good "clock" buy we made from Lidl a few years ago. We keep it in Turkey and we find it very useful. This image from 6th October, this month. I put it out in the sun to see how hot it was. I think it was about £4.00 when bought.

Highlander, it wasn't my friend, it was a tweet from 2015..when the clocks were altered or more to the point not altered.
-
Do I have to reposition my sundial?
-
Nope, but you'll have to take a pinch of sand out of your hourglass.
-
Thanks KKOB, I'm glad it doesn't need changing because it was minute perfect at 8.00 this morning.

I'll have to wait for the tide to go out before changing the sand in my hourglass.

The clocks won't be changing in Turkey again, at the end of next month.

Only time will tell. :)
That's been said time and time again. ;)

Does anyone know for sure what is happening at the weekend with the clocks?
The most recent info I can find is the hurriet link that yabanci posted above, but it's hardly definitive.

How about this in this weeks Fethiye Times. :)

Turkey will continue to be 50 years behind the rest of us.
-
Just to add to the absurdity of it all, last year here in North Cyprus we did the same as Turkey and didn't change our clocks (which in my view nowadays is sensible) but it meant that when crossing the border into the Republic of Cyprus there was an hours difference as they changed in line with Europe! This year, in their wisdom, the Government in the north have decided we will not align with Turkey so we shall change our clocks. This is apparently causing problems with flights as we only get flights from Turkey therefore we have the anomaly that people will be able to travel from here and arrive in Turkey before they left!
-
We're flying back from here at 11.10 am on Sunday. Arrive Manchester 12.40. One a half hour flght - I wish! :o
-
Ach, I wouldn't worry about it. Someone told a friend or ours here that the clocks went back two weeks ago. She told us and for the past fortnight we've all been living in our own time zone.

Going back to changing the clocks as from next year so back to just two hours. Apparently the new change didn't work out. :)
