Trendy US-style fridge freezers are not as good as smaller ones costing a tenth of the price, claim consumer watchdogs.
Four of the giant appliances costing up to £1,200 scored less than standard and tall fridges in tests, which included how well they kept food cool, energy rating and running costs.
The top US model - a Bosch, which cost £1,200, scored just 70 out of a 100. But a £180 model from Beko got 82. Which? said: "You may be better off looking at cheaper fridges."
