This is a genuine warning to everyone.
You maybe spamming members with offers of Viagra or Electrical goods, I have received 3 emails this last weekend from members of the forum who have my email address,
The first one I received I did not think anything of it, the email was from a gmail (googlemail) account, the offer was for cheap electrical goods, the mail was address to myself from a the friends genuine email address.
The second was from a hotmail account offer the same, I started to dig a bit deeper, because it was hotmail, the IP addresses did not do me any good.
The third and from Yahoo, a friend in Spain, of course I opened it, even though it appeared in my spam filter box, it was her address, again found out not sent by her.
The fourth, appeared in a business email account from
?? @ gmail.com (which is my email account) addressed to ME!!!!! apparently I am now selling Viagra!!! and American Express!
This went to my spambox, now I had something to go on, checked right through the full information.
The answer is:
Send your funny emails individually never from your contacts list.
Do not open emails from multiple recipients.
How boring!
It is what is called spoof email, someone (innocently) in your contact list has been infected, the "spoofer" has found genuine emails. Multiple senders are open to "Harvest Emails" your email address is more likely to have been harvested from the PC of a friend that you have sent an email
Apparently if the email goes to your spam box then it is not a doing any harm, (say who)!!
So, for all of you sending me "funny" emails, I am not ignoring you, I am just not opening your emails unless they are from you alone and do not include others.
This is a bit like bolting the stable door after the horse has bolted!
