MOTORBIKE RIDERS
« on: September 21, 2004, 18:46:01 PM »
Hi All,
I know its been a while since we have participated in the forum but we have been very busy sorting out everything ready for our big move over to Calis early next year. We wondered if anyone has had any experiences with buying a motorbike as that is our preferred mode of transport and cant wait to ride around as much of the area as poss. Any recommended retailers or costs would be much appreciated and is it easy with the legalities to own a bike over there.

Owning a bike over here is no problem except for the general condition of the road surfaces. Many of the A roads and dual carriageways over here have surfaces that are no better than poor B roads in the UK.

My partner Jennie rode a Honda CBR 600 in the UK but she wouldn't consider anything like that over here. The best bikes for over here are 350cc / 600cc trailbikes or 180+ quads.
