What email are you using? Sounds like someone has hacked you and is sending them out in your name.

I have these on occasions.  i think that they're a bit like cold calling on the phone.. someone guessing your email address.  ~~i just delete them.

I would just change your password and be careful not to open any links from emails that go into your junk mail box.

I got an email purporting to be from a friend who uses hotmail, it addressed me as "Dear Friend" and tried to entice me to click onto a website selling electrical goods from China. Needless to say it went in the trash, swiftly followed by permanent delete and I advised my friend that their address book may have been hijacked.

This is where someone has sent you an e-mail and used your address as a nickname, does not mean they have necesarily been into your account to send an e-mail. It appears that it has come from you.

Best thing to do if you get these is to delete your friend from your address book - then all the emails will go into your junk folder. Then tell your friend to open a new account with a different name and password.

A pain but it's the only way I think.

Tytots - sounds like you have an email hijacker trojan on your machine. Best to run a good virus scan on your PC and also re-install your internet browser to be sure.

Have a read of this - it might explain things a little better:
