I think when on holiday is no problem for most people because we are earning English money. When English people live in Turkey then comes a different view point because they are not anymore on English wages and begin to see some prices in bars and restaurants as excessive.

I'm not on holiday! i have lived here for 4 and a half years.I'm not a liar i know what i was charged,and i know its only 1 lira but you cant tell people the beer is one price and then charge them more at the end of the evening.And its still a 33.3% hike

Isn't that what garyo is saying happened? You've confused me now  8)

I know people hate to see prices changing and I do too, a lira more because there was a belly dancer on etc (I want a lira off the price of a beer if I have to suffer such 'entertainment'!) but it is also frustrating how people want the cheapest beer possible but want things like Sky Sports so they can watch big games - someone has to pay for that and if you are paying bottom prices for your drinks it won't be possible for too long.
