air con problem

The insects would be in the pipe that is open ended outside that takes away the condensation that is formed as the gas expands in the unit and draws in hot air. The cleaning of filters is just as important as they get clogged with dust, insects, and such like.
Like anything left standing routine maint' should be done before using ,but as said before if they tell you it needs gassing because it's not used they are not being totally honest. Sometimes pipes can leak at low pressures and seal at high pressures, which is why they say it's lost gas through low usage, the truth is that it means that it has a leak which will only get worse in time.

We had Beko out to a leak in one of our units last year. Their diagnosis was that the pipe was blocked by an insect or similar and the solution would be to dig out the wall, the floor and the floor of the balcony. Refusing this we called a local engineer (sorry I dont have the number to hand). He took the front off the unit, flushed it through, job done, and he refused payment, only accepting a tip for his time.

I went with a builder to the BEKO shop on the back road to buy AC units for a property. Having specified a number of different size units, the builder asked how much it would be in total. The Beko shop man showed the builder the total by writing it on a pad that I couldn't see, then asked the builder (in Turkish) what he should add on for him, when he told me the total.

Mine weren't, they didn't have shelves, an area for vegetables or a little light or anything like that.
