Bottom right hand side of screen (in the blue bar) you should see a small grey speaker icon. Move mouse pointer to it and click the right hand mouse button. Then select audio properties. On the screen that shows make sure that the mute button is not selected, then click on Advanced in the Device Volume section and check all settings on next screen

If this doesn't work select the audio tab at the top of the window and check the settings

Hope this helps

Thanks redding43 I have tried that, still no sound!! Everything shows that they should be working, so maybe it could be the speakers, what do you think?

On the Audio tab there is a dropdown to select which sound device you want to use - is the correct one selected

Also, any switches on laptop case that turns sound off?

Other than that, it sounds like a driver problem

If you have skype installed it has a nice setup program that checks your sound devices for you
