« on: May 21, 2011, 22:09:05 PM »
Last time we came over it cost me £200.00 to use my iphone as I  checked  my emails etc.,
Can anyone tell me how to turn off the service, so I can just use it in cafes etc., that have WIFI connection for customers[?]

Hi Jacqui

In settings choose general then network. Enable 3G turn to off. Data Roaming to off.

It may be paranoia but I also turn off notifications, and location services (these are both on the main settings page).

Jacqui, seeing you are a frequent visitor, can you not get a Turkish sim card, or does that not work in your iphone?
 :)

Hi Toky, I have absolutely no idea if I could get a Turkish Sim Card.  My husband bought me the Iphone last September.  I don't use it that much.  I tend to use my computer all the time particularly for business.  However, I like to keep in touch when I am on holiday, which is why Phil bought me the Iphone.   Wonder how easy it would be to do?  Really don't want to mess up my U.K. Account for the Iphone.

If you have an unlocked iphone you can put any sim card in it. However if it's an iphone 4 you will need a mini sim not a full size one.
