Can you elaborate a little more on what doesn't work?
I have one and it works fine in Turkey.

No registration required. Are you accessing via the 3g connection or wi-fi?

If it's only a wifi Kindle (cost about £109- £111) then you will need to get an internet connection for it to download books and open the Amazon Store. I think the 3G version costs about £145.

Just go to a free wifi spot and try it there.

Is the wi-fi showing as being connected?
Can you use the experimental web browser on the Kindle to browse the internet?
If this is the case it may be worthwhile reseting the kindle by holding the power slide switch for 15 seconds.

Are you sure it's the wifi you are looking at and not the battery power? I've got them mixed up before no our Kindle.

If you know how to turn the wifi off then do that - then switch it back on again.

Are you using your own internet connection or someone else's?
