rows and rows of empty seats

Flew back from Dalaman yesterday  July 10th after spending nine weeks out here  and was shocked to see the plane ( onur air ) :o at least only 60 ish % full. In twelve years of visits to Turkey at various times of the year we have never before encountered so many empty seats  :o   this just endorsed the similarites that  many  people were telling us on their flights to Dalaman.    A worrying trend ?   will next years flights be trimmed ?  Are we seeing the end of an era with the brits now massively cutting back on holidays abroad ?  or is it just Turkey ?

We've been out twice this year, April and June.  All our flights - from Gatwick - were rammed full, and in fact that was what all our friends said as well.  Except where there had been a late change of plane to a bigger wide bodied jet.  Which was the UK destination airport?

Well the Scots must be trying to do their bit as I recently went out on a Thomson flight and returned Thomas Cook, and there wasn't a spare seat to be seen.

Flew out last week in May with TC from Aberdeen 40 empty seats. Flew back after three weeks and the plane had no spare seats. I happen to know there are no seats for the whole of August from Aberdeen to Dalaman it's been fully booked for a long time.

Perhaps, people are now getting a bit wary with Onur as their flights are so often the subject of changes.

usedbustickets   it was Birmingham,  in fact thinking about it, most of the people who were mentioning the `empty seats` were referring to Birmingham [?]

not so sure......we have always booked well in advance for our August flights to ensure we got the dates we wanted..  However times are a bit stretched so we left it until recently to secure our seats........I was beginning to panic that we wouldn't find seats for the days we needed, but when I asked, I was told, don't worry plenty of seats available !  The flight we wanted still had 70 seats free........

Our return flight Dalaman to Glasgow on 23 June was half full and I noticed a Dalaman to Prestwick flight, both Onur Air,which was leaving around a hour ahead of us did not seem to have a full plane load either.
This is the first time I have been on an Onur Air flight which was not full.
Could be the cost of flights that put people off. I paid for our September flights from Aegean Flights around a year ago at a cost of £370 for both. When I checked the same flights yesterday the cost was £720.
