Copied from the petition sight's News section:-
"Sadly our celebrations yesterday were rather premature!
it seems that the newspapers here jumped the gun somewhat yesterday with headlines like 'Gov't withdraws controversial amendment to animal protection law' and 'Gov't steps back in bid to amend animal rights law'. Although technically these two headlines were
correct we were led to believe that the 'Death law' as it is now widely being called, had been withdrawn but in fact it was an earlier draft proposal presented in February by Mr Umit Oral that has been withrawn for further discussions, NOT the proposal presented last month by The Minister for Forestry and Water Prof. Veysel Eroglu which includes the planned 'natural life parks' (Death Camps) and unacceptable breed specific legislation.
The later amendment proposal is still going to be Presented for deliberation by the Government's Environment Commission, so all Turkey's stray animals are still in grave danger!
PLEASE keep those signatures coming! Sign-share-tweet-email- just tell EVERYBODY!!!!
We cannot allow this amendment to become law!!"
So, if you haven't done so, PLEASE sign the petition!!!!!!
