Can you still get the green spirals that you light at one end and they slow burn throughout the evening? They were total rubbish :D

We have plug in's that emit a high pitched  noise that we can't hear but the mozzies can.  Don't really get bothered with mozzies in the house, probably because of the screens Engin had fitted for us a couple of years ago.  We have one of those ultra violet plug in lights that we use on the veranda, have to say it's very satisfying to listen the ping and know another little monsters has been fried   We bought this in Lidl's but note they now sell them locally.

I was also  under the impression only the femails bite. apparently they rely on blood for egg production and as only femails produce eggs only femails bite.

100% definitely it is only the females who bite.

Boots mozzie wipes -tropical strength and no perfume has worked for me.
One night I forgot to use one  and the little blighters had a feeding frenzy.  I had to get antihistamine which made me ill and ended up off work on return home.  I will NOT forget again : :)

Mozzie wipes also take your nail polish off which is the down side.

I have earlier explained that I rarely get bitten and when I do, where it tends to be on the body.

My advice is: do not be the next person a mosquito bites after biting me.

I can't add to the comprehensive prevention advice in this thread, but I have found Fenistil gel to work wonders on stopping the itching and taking down the swelling if you are unfortunately 'got'. It is an antihistamine though, so beware any allergies.

Available locally, but not seen it at home. Having said that, why would I look? No self-respecting mozzie would come near Wakefield  ;D

I think one of the waiters in Iskele on Fethiye bay told us to buy something called ammoniac in the chemist? Does that ring any bells?
