Anyone had a 3rd Solar Panel fitted?
« on: December 14, 2013, 17:50:16 PM »
We have only just realised that the reason our water does not get very hot in the winter is that the 2 panels are hidden behind the turret style stairways and don't see much of the sun.

At lunch today a friend suggested rather than go to the upheaval of trying to move the existing ones - which wouldn't be easy due to available space - just add one at the side which would be in the sun.

I also suspect newer ones are more efficient - but I don't know if you can add a "single" and mix old with new?

This sounds a good solution - has anyone done it?

We just had the two old ones removed and three new ones fitted.  The new ones will be more efficient and we were surprised how reasonable it was to get this work done.
I would recommend MEHMET who used to work for Engin and now has his own business.  He has done a lot of work for us and we have always found what he does really first class.
He will give you a free quote.

Thanks for that Jacqui

Being careful - I would prefer to just add one as opposed to buying 3 but it is something worth discussing   :)

Yes, because in the long run three new ones against two old ones and a new one will be more efficient.  We had the choice and when we found out the costings, we opted for the second option. However, it's your choice, you could get three new ones and offset the cost, by selling the old two?

Not using Engin and FPS anymore Jacqui and you sang their praises so much  ;)

Jumping to conclusions Teetee?? :o
Yes, Engin, Fethiye Property Services still looks after our Villa Maintenance and he was more than happy to have us use Mehmet for recent work we had done.    ;) ;D
