My residency was 4weeks wife's was 5,sent at the same time,
Friends took over 6weeks if your going to UK ,make sure you apply,
Well before, we had to keep going to PTT sorting office by Ortogar,
A few times before we got ours,

I think it depends on where you live, Lance.
Mr WB's took seven weeks, our daughter's only five.
On each occasion the postie brought them to the village with the rest of the mail; it had to be signed for so it couldn't be left in the shop with everything else; instead he left it with the owners of one of the nearby restaurants who know us and could vouch for us.

Ours both came back together, delivered to the house by PTT Kargo, 30 days from our application date.

Yes just a card Lance, when we went through Turkish customs going to UK in September,
The customs officer looked at it,and said/Visa,he didn't know it was our residency,
Until we told him,and the officer next to him told him,
Talk about lack of infomation ? Duh

Customs have no dealings with visas or residence permits.

Most waiters and barmen know it's their cousins, the Pasport Polis, that handle those matters.  ;)

We compounded the confusion by going to Northern Cyprus with our new RP cards AND brand new passports with no entry stamps - poor guy didn't quite know what to make of it, till he made a quick phone call. Needless to say we got out and back in OK but I was sweating for a minute or two.
