oykun or hotel letoon
« on: April 28, 2015, 23:43:52 PM »
Just about to book this years visit for Aug, last year we stayed at the oykun and absolutely loved it, couldn't fault it at all. this year we was thinking of having a change and staying at the hotel letoon mainly for the views would this be a mistake I'm torn and can't decide flights are already booked just need to make a quick decision. what's the take on the letoon is it worth paying the extra.

Not stayed at the Oykun but I did stay at the Letoon last year and will be there from next week for 3 weeks.  Last year the food was good no make that excellent.. excellent company in the other guests..  nice view, great pool.  Rooms are more than adequate and the gardens planted up very pretty.  It's quiet with enough places within walking distance and the Dolmus picks up just round the corner. Room rates include A/c which a lot of other places charge extra for.  Also free Wi-Fi and Satellite TV if that floats your boat.

We stayed at the Letoon on our second visit to the area.  We still say it has the nicest location of any Hotel in Calis, lovely views and very quiet to get a night's sleep at that end of the prom and a few steps from the beach.
What is not to like?

Hasn't the Letoon just recently changed ownership?

It may have IanK.

Have stayed at both and no complaints with either.

But we have an nostalgic affinity with Letoon have stayed there for many years and like that end of the prom.

You will get good, friendly service at the Oykun also.

There would be more of a breeze at Letoon I would have thought which might be a major consideration in August.

Just a thought.

As far as i'm aware, the letoon is still under the same ownership as previous years.

A good point about the breeze.  My mum & grandparents always stay at the Oykun when over on a visiting holiday & for years used to sit around the pool for sunbathing.  Now, my mum says she prefers to be at the beach during the days as appose to the pool (near Guvens) as the breeze is so much nicer and she enjoys it down there.
