Marine Ply & Pressure Treated Wood
« on: August 07, 2015, 14:55:15 PM »
I would like to buy some marine ply to replace the ordinary ply on my apartment, does anybody know where this is available - ideally cut to size and delivered as well.

Also, can you buy pressure treated wood (for roof battens).

There's a timber merchant on the Saniye that sells marine ply. Sorry can't remember what they're called. You'll see it all stacked undercover at the front of the premises. The good quality ply is very expensive compared to the UK.

It's difficult to get pressure treated wood in the area, although not impossible. 99% of roofs are built with untreated, often wet or green wood. That's why most of them tend to sag or collapse over the years.

Thanks KKOB, can you recall roughly where the place that sells marine ply is. The last time I bought ordinary ply I visited what seemed like every timber yard before I found one that even had any.

To be honest, no. All I remember is that it's at the Patalangic end of the estate.
