Well done Libra. Terrifying to think of children being put at risk like this. I wonder who owns it and if there are proper safety checks in Turkey for fairground rides?

No.  Never.  The DM does a superb "turkey bashing" job as it is - balanced journalism to highlight the issue is good, but the DM don't know the meaning of the phrase when it comes to Turkey.

If you think its unsafe, then don't use it. Simples.
Then it may be gone next year.

Which is all very well but people will have booked holidays for their kids without knowing the safety issues and the kids will have been looking forward to it.

I wouldn't like to have to be the parent that the kids couldn't use the rides.

It is not only people from other countries using the fun fair, Turkish families are using the equipment and are obviously putting their trust in the owners to provide a safe experience for them. If the owner is not doing enough to ensure the safety of children and just  concerned with making a profit no matter what then that is not something that should  not be tolerated.
Surely the tourists are not the only group of parents who should be concerned with the conditions which are being accepted by the local authorities as acceptable.

Unfortunately Turkish people normally don't react before something happens and sometimes even after something happens.

They rather think ( and hope ) that nothing will happen even if they see there is something wrong , whereas Europeans  think ( and know ) something is definitely going to happen if they see there is something wrong.
