My hubbie & I also used Asli the sworn translator, to arrange our 5 year residency (cost, circa £800 each). Apart from a quick visit to the Passport Police on the Marina, we had absolutely nothing else to do except, sit back and wait for her to bring us the (navy blue) visa books. She is a star.
I could not imagine trying to arrange this for ourselves.
