Other news sites are saying that the target was a riot police bus near the stadium. Not in the stadium itself. At least 20 officers injured but no fatalities reported.

The explosion occurred after the match between Besiktas and Bursapor when most of the fans had dispersed.

As per usual media blackout in place, but looks like early reports are correct - no fatalities as yet.

Its just a pity that mainstream media doesn't give as much prominence to the almost daily bombings and fatalities that have been happening in the south east of Turkey for some time now.

Geçmiş olsun to those injured.

Looks like a second attack, possibly a suicide bomber,  at Maçka Park not far from the stadium.

29 dead, 166 injured. One explosion, a car bomb, outside Besiktas Stadium targeted a riot police van and another, an apparent suicide bomber, at Macka Park. Also reports of sustained machine gun fire.

BBC now saying 38 dead (30 of them police officers) and 155 hospitalized (14 in intensive care). Deliberately, or by chance, the football crowds had already dispersed - perhaps this is when police re-assemble after the game.

I've been at Ataturk airport for the last couple of hours and surprised to see it on all the tv screens.
Felt really nervous about being in the airport, didn't see any Polis but that doesn't mean they weren't there.

Lot of fear and confusion just along the road in Besiktas proper (stadium is more in Gumussuyu) last night.  Heard from a few folks today who were out and about in Barbarosa Bulvari area as like many others, they've been avoiding Taksim/Beyoglu during busy times.  Quite a few had an early night...

Looks like TAK, the Kurdistan Freedom Falcons have claimed responsibility - same mob who did the one in Kizilay in March, plus several others in Istanbul.
