Let me know if you want a co-pilot for the trip. I might be up for it. I've done the trip 5 times so I know the way.  ;)

Sounds like a good idea, where are you based?

Wrexham, North Wales, But easy enough to get to most places.

Just be aware that, if you're thinking of going ahead with this plan, you'll need to buy the van at least 4 weeks before you intend doing the trip. You must have a V5(C) in your name to take the vehicle into Turkey, and the DVLA will probably take that long to send you a new one.

If I remember correctly you can get it done at the local customs offices. But again, it's something that 'Inspector' can give you advice on.

One of the other CBF-ers, Fethiye Fraser (Jim Fraser ?), did it a few years ago and it was all taken care of locally. Unfortunately he hasn't been on here for a long while.

Who knows ? Our house in Kayakoy is up for sale. Once we've got a firm offer on it I'll be coming over to complete the paperwork.

I very much doubt it. Mrs KKOB is reluctant to return to Turkey long-term for medical reasons and current family ties. Me, I'd be on a flight tonight given the chance.  :)
