Title: uk VPN or proxy
Post by: loz on August 13, 2014, 21:46:27 PM
do any members know a good reliable and safe VPN Proxy from UK.  Virgin Broadband block all the sites I use and now many of the VPN's have gone, I am getting tired of searching the web for decent ones.    Something simple.

Can you use Venmate? I use it through Google Chrome and am very happy with it. You can choose whichever browser you want with Venmate.

If its Virgin Media you're with, download Opera browser and enable off road mode/turbo - bypasses all filters allowing access to sites like Pirate Bay etc.

Don't you mean Zenmate or is there really a Venmate? :-)

For watching Emmerdale on the west coast of Africa I recommend Hotspot VPN - especially for iphone/ipads. It's perfect (but you do pay around twenty something quid a year for it though).

I use Strong VPN, costs a few quid a year, but works perfectly.  Wherever I am in the world, I have an IP Address which suggests that I'm in Rugby in Warwickshire.  I can confirm that it works in China, USA, UAE, all of Europe and of course Turkey.  You can even access Facebook and use all of the features of it while sitting in a bar on Hongmei Lu in Shanghai (remember that Facebook is barred in China)

Thanks I will keep these in mind, at the moment I just needed to get over the Virgin Media hurdle.  Opera appears to work, yet a little slower in search.
