Since yesterday evening I am unable to access internet pages when ZenMate is on. Anybody else having this problem ?

If you're trying to access social media from Turkey, it's all been blocked after another "incident".

Over the past few months the government has been steadily blocking all VPNs and other methods used to bypass their attempts to stifle free speech.
The latest roll out has restricted access to the TOR network, although folks are working on a fix to keep access open.
You could try one of the commercial VPNs available, Private Internet Access still works and is pretty cheap - just Google it.
Alan is also correct, there has been further restrictions imposed due to terrorist incidents.
The joys of living in a virtual dictatorship...

I had no problems with ZenMate since yesterday. Using now DotVpn and have no problems. I sent a message to ZenMate Support this morning. Let's see what they will say....

I use ZenMate - no problems at all :)
-
Are you using the free version ?
-
Anyone tried using Opera browser in "turbo mode" recently? It's almost like a built-in VPN with a constantly changing IP.

I did make a payment well over a year ago for Zenmate on my laptop that died - I never added my ipad to my devices to use ZenMate but after that Zenmate on the ipad worked fine.
I haven't made a payment since so not really sure what's going on. All I know is that I can still get iplayer and it all works just fine.

Mine and Kaz's zenmate stopped yesterday, now using Hoxx, which so far is still working.

We might experience the same problem Diverbaz 1.
I tried also Firefox and have the same ZenMate problem.
My wife's notebook also failed using ZenMate about the same time , about 5-6 pm yesterday I think.
Now both of us are using DotVpn.

Mine and Kaz's zenmate stopped yesterday, now using Hoxx, which so far is still working.
I am testing BROWSEC for a while now as an alternative and it works fine. Fast , easy , no user/pw login needed for the free version , UK among free countries.

I was trying HOXX since yesterday , it was working ; however it reported it is blocked by my ISP ( TürkTelekom) and stopped working at about 6 pm today.
-
Did something else happen in the news that they are trying to block or is this just general dictatorial blocking?

This is what I wrote to HOXX Customer Service yesterday :
"hoxx Client
Dec 26, 15:16 UTC
About 6 pm ( local time today ) , I was trying to create an account on my wife's notebook , but the reply was 'your ISP is blacklisted' .
I was logged in to HOXX on my desktop meanwhile and it was working fine ; when I returned to my PC , I saw the message 'HOXX' is blocked by your ISP' ."
This is their response :
"Dear User,
recently, Turkey has decided to block VPN provider. Therefore HOXX VPN is currently not available for users from Turkey. We are trying to solve this problem with the authorities and hope get back HOXX VPN soon.
Best regards
HOXX VPN Support"

Tested HOXX again now and it's working.

The support guy simply confirmed what I said at the start of this topic, the government is actively attempting to block all VPNs in Turkey.
They can't resolve it with "the authorities", all they can do is to play mouse v cat to keep their nodes functioning.
Maybe someone who's full time in the Fethiye area (Istanbul works differently) should do a sticky post with a list of working VPNs?

I am testing now following :
- First added Browsec VPN to Chrome and activated it.
- Then logged in to HOXX VPN
It's working fine for now.
Browsec was not blocked yet since last Friday. So Hoxx connects via Browsec and is not being blocked.
