Turkish Airlines are letting passengers take laptops on
flights from Istanbul, according to the news,
so the ban from the USA looks like it could be over.

Just read this

Lets how it is lifted by the U.K too.
-
Emirates are saying same from Dubai.

Make that "lets hope" from me... :-[ ;)

Its only from Ataturk at the minute by the looks of the report
-
Id rather the ban stays in place unless the powers that be believe there is no longer a threat when flying from Dalaman to uk...

And only applying to Turkish Airlines (and Emirates from Dubai). This is dependent on specific security measures taken by these airlines at these two airports only. No sign of a general US relaxation in policy.

Not clear yet whether this is a general relaxation or only selective airports/airlines. The UK position is different from US since only 10 airports and 9 airlines in the Middle East operate direct flights to USA unlike the multitude of flights connecting Mid East and UK.
