Title: Upcoming holiday bank day closures

Re the upcoming Bayram holiday can someone tell me please how many days the banks are going to be closed for, will this include money change shops, also will the closure include council offices tax office etc? Many thanks

Ramazan ends on the evening of Tuesday 4th June. So, there's a good chance that most banks and government offices will close at midday on Tuesday and probably won't open for normal business until Monday 10th June. The change offices will probably be open, but for reduced hours.

Please don't take what I've said as gospel. What I've said is based on past experience, but you know well that things change in Turkey for no obvious reason.  :)

I read that the government had declared a seven day holiday from 7 June but no doubt things will carry on as usual for tourists, apart from banks and public offices being closed.  Lots of Turkish families holidaying in Calis.

Nine day holiday this yea, from Saturday  1st June to Sunday 9th inclusive.

Apparently some banks and government offices are closing at midday on Monday 3rd but the banks will be working normal hours on Friday the 7th.

Conflicting reports but safer to assume that banks and governments offices closed for the whole week. Seker Bayram starts on Tuesday 4th June.

So prob best to assume the tax office will not be open on the Tuesday and poss all week do u think folks?

Saw this posted on the Doc Martin page on Facebook.

I spoke with my Bank & local PTT today who stated that ALL banks & the PTT offices will close on Monday 3rd June at lunchtime & re open on Friday morning 7th June .
All Government offices,Belediye & GOC offices will be closed from the end of the working day on Friday 31st May & re open on the morning of Monday 10th June.
