Leasing/Buying a bar???
« on: June 05, 2005, 10:34:09 AM »
Hi everyone

We are Lesley and Steve and we make the move to Calis Jan next year and have our dream of a bar in the sun... I know there are a million obsticals but is there anyway for a UK couple to run a bar in Turkey???

We come from the Entertainment/Hospitality sector and would like this to continue when we get there.

Any advice would be great.

Many Thanks

Lesley & Steve :D:D

Hi Lesley & Steve. The only one I can think of near us is the 'English Restaurant' in Hisaronu. The owner is a chap called Bill, from Hull. If you spend an a day or evening up in Hisaronu, pop in and have a chat with him. Bill's been running this particular business for around 8 years.

Hi there,

You could also have a chat with Phil and Louise at 'The Lighthouse' in Calis. I'm not sure how many Brit bar/restaurant owners there are in Calis and the surrounding area but I'm sure the other memebers of the forum will point out a few more.

You do need a Turkish partner to run a business here and I must emphasise that you need one you can trust.

Pop along and see Fatih at the Meeting Point, he may also be able to help you...last I heard he was selling his place.
