Bringing Cats In Via Dalaman
« on: June 05, 2014, 12:26:52 PM »
I and our two cats will be arriving in just under three weeks.....yippee!

Does anyone know if there is any tax to pay at Dalaman when you reclaim your animals?
I can't find anything on the forum after around 2010 and I realise things may have changed.

(One good thing is that they bring them to the baggage hall rather than me having to go wandering around to some cargo area. Phew. I'm worrying enough about this part of the adventure as it is!)

Are you coming on your own?  I thought when you were bringing in pets it had to be one human escorting one animal.

No taxes, although you might have to "tip" someone.  :)

We're using Ladyhaye, Eric, and they said one person to two animals was fine.

KKOB - good point!  ;D

A friend just flew Pegasus with 2 animals, but they had to be in the hold. Have never heard of any taxes, please don't stand with a purse open looking like you're waiting to find out how much. Don't given them any ideas lol!

Brilliant, thanks - that's why I was asking, I don't want to look like I'm waiting to give someone money if I don't have to!

They will be in the hold, which I'm pleased about to be honest. One of them is a nightmare even to take up the road to the vet, I don't want him yowling on my lap for four hours - the hour's drive from Dalaman to Kaya will be bad enough!

So, Sue and I have three cats, would there be any restrictions as we understood the rule was one animal per person

If one person can travel with two then you should be fine, but I'm not the person to give you a categoric answer. I suggest you give Ladyhaye or another pet transport company a call and ask them.   :)
