Ryanair is to start flying to Dalaman...

But, only from Dublin and Bratislava.

Have just seen this on another site so looked at their website. Can get flights for two, 16th to 30th Sept, 20kg bags, priority boarding, extra legroom seats for €350! Whether you like Ryanair or not it's worth a shot at those prices, if you can fly from Dublin

If it takes off (excuse the pun) then maybe from other airports? We could do with someone to add competition.

This is very good news  but I do hope the seat comfort is good as it will be at least a five hour flight from Dublin, maybe more.

I have visited Dublin quite a lot and fly in and out of there sometimes. The Brazen Head pub is very historic and the oldest pub in Dublin, they do corned beef there, this is not the Fray Bentos variety! It is  not far from the Guinness Factory which is worth a visit. Temple Bar is a very lively area and has lots of shops. My daughter is celebrating her friends 40th there soon with a few friends.  Some of the hotels are really attractive and furnished with lovely period furniture. There is a nice place at Swords which is called Roganstown Hotel and not far from the airport but not in Dublin itself. It is more of a country spa hotel. Pheonix Park and St Stephens Park are very pretty if you want a stroll.
