Warning to cyclists on Fethiye Kordon.
« on: June 10, 2018, 17:23:55 PM »

Just a quick warning to anyone who cycles along the kordon. A man who said he was the owner of the Barista restaurant on the kordon threatened to hit my wife if she cycled this way again. He spoke good English so there was no misunderstanding. It was 10.30 on Friday morning, very quiet, with no people around anywhere. She is mid 50s so is fairly sedate on here bike.
This has made here feel so ill she is flying home tonight. So if you like to cycle avoid this place.

I think I'd rather avoid Barista Restaurant altogether.

Hope your wife feels better soon :(

Is there not a dedicated cycle path now open that avoids anyone cycling along past any of the Kordon Restaurants .

Yes there is, but Akarca end of it is not finished and there are still men and machinery still working occasionally so she cycles the kordon, as do Turkish people and numerous others. She sat a bit further down to gather her wits and filmed Turks cycling by with nothing being said.

Strange because we cycled that way last week and stopped for a beer. We’ve been a few times now, including last year, and always found the staff great.

There’s no excuse for that though - even at 9 Lira a beer.

Yeah. We’ve cycled that way most mornings since April 18th and never had anyone say anything. We usually cycle all the way down until we get to the now blue part of the cycle lane which is usually where we join it. Very strange

Which person was it? The one we usually see has a pony tail and he used to also work in a bar in Çalis. Might be Joseph’s but I’m not sure.

That is strange. Me and my mate cycle along there when we are over and always call here for a beer( don't know why we stop here 😄 ;). The guy with the pony tail always takes time out for a chat and seems friendly enough.
